The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Ajman is one of the links in the Ministry of Interior’s system in the UAE for regulating the entry, residency, and departure of foreigners from the territory of the United Arab Emirates. It has gone through historical stages, which we summarize as follows:
- The organization of residency and foreigners affairs tasks began in the Ruler’s Court in 1956.
- An office for passports and foreigners was allocated in the home of the Ruler’s Advisor / H.E. Abdullah Amin Al-Shurafa in 1968.
- The office was incorporated into the organizational structure of the Ministry of Interior in 1973.
- It moved to the Nationality and Residency Administration building in Ajman in the Al Rashidiya area in 1976. The General Directorate moved to its current building in the Al Jurf area in 2005.
The General Directorate seeks to cover its services for all geographical areas in the Emirate of Ajman, through its main building in the Al Jurf area, which includes the following service units: Entry Permits Section, Residency Section, Information and Follow-up Section.
- Passport Control Section at Ajman Port.
- Ajman Port Passports Office.
- Al Hamidiya Passports Office.
- Al Manama Passports Office (Municipality Building).
- Masfout Passports Office (Sanad Government Center).
