The following conditions apply for issuing an entry permit for a male or female domestic worker for a foreign individual:
- a. The sponsor’s monthly salary should not be less than seven thousand dirhams (7,000 AED).
- b. The sponsor must pay annually to the state treasury an amount equivalent to the annual salary of the male or female domestic worker, with a minimum salary of four hundred dirhams (400 AED).
- c. The sponsor should not have transferred sponsorship of a male or female domestic worker within one year from the date of application.
- d. The sponsor and the sponsored person should not be related.
- e. The sponsor must be residing with their family in the country.
- f. For foreign working women in rare or important specializations such as medicine, engineering, teaching, and similar fields that require university degrees or specialized courses of at least one year in the same professional specialization (determined in consultation with relevant authorities), they are allowed to replace the head of the family in sponsoring a male or female domestic worker, provided that the required sponsorship conditions are met.
- g. Any person is not allowed to sponsor domestic workers if they have been proven unable at any time to pay the salary of one of their sponsored individuals, arrange for their travel costs, or if they left them without work and they were caught working for others. The following two categories of foreigners are not allowed to sponsor or bring in a foreigner even if they meet the salary requirements.

Q3: I am a resident in the UAE and my wife left the country for more than six months. Can she re-enter the UAE?
Yes, she can enter the UAE if her residency is still valid, provided that she obtains a permit from the General Directorate.
Q4: What are the conditions for a resident to sponsor his wife and children?
- a. Entry permit application with a colored photograph attached and signed by the sponsor.
- b. Copy of the sponsored person’s passport with at least six months validity and approved.
- c. Marriage certificate duly authenticated and legally translated for non-Arabic nationalities.
- d. Authenticated birth certificates for children under 18 years and for unmarried daughters over 18 years.
- e. Written pledge that daughters over 18 years are not married.
- f. Salary certificate/employment contract (3,000 AED + accommodation from employer) or 4,000 AED.

- 1. Original Family Book.
